TEAM EXPERIENCE

Why our team is the right Carrier installer in NYC

Carrier is the heritage choice for NYC commercial buildings — chillers, rooftop package units, and central forced-air residential is what the brand does best. The catalog goes deep, from entry Comfort series through premium Infinity Greenspeed modulating equipment, and the right install depends on knowing which series fits which job. A decade with the brand teaches that.

Our techs have installed and serviced Carrier Infinity, Performance, WeatherMaker rooftops, AquaEdge chillers, and Toshiba-Carrier VRF systems across NYC since 2014 — every series, every generation.

Carrier built the modern HVAC industry starting in 1902 — and the commercial catalog (chillers, rooftop package units, AquaEdge centrifugals) is still where the brand is strongest. We work it across NYC office towers, hotels, schools, and hospital buildings.

Carrier Infinity Greenspeed uses variable-capacity modulating compressors that ramp up and down rather than cycling on and off. The efficiency gains are real — but only with proper sizing and Cor 7C thermostat configuration. We commission it correctly.

Carrier residential equipment is built in Indianapolis and commercial in Charlotte — meaningful US manufacturing footprint. For NYC service work that translates to faster part availability than Asian-imported equivalents on most common residential and commercial parts.

Carrier product lines we install and service

Infinity series with Greenspeed Intelligence

Carrier's premium residential lineup — variable-capacity modulating heat pumps, gas furnaces, and AC systems paired with Cor 7C Wi-Fi thermostats. The right pick for NYC single-family and townhouse owners who want quiet, even comfort and low energy bills.

WeatherMaker rooftop package units

Commercial rooftop systems for retail strip centers, restaurants, ground-floor offices, and small commercial buildings. The default Carrier choice for Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island Mall, and other NYC commercial corridors.

AquaEdge & AquaForce chillers

Centrifugal (AquaEdge 23XRV) and screw (AquaForce 30XV) chillers for large NYC buildings — Midtown office towers, hotels, hospitals, university campuses. Chilled-water plant equipment installed and serviced as a single integrated job.

Performance & Comfort series + Toshiba-Carrier VRF

Mid-tier and entry residential lines for budget-conscious single-family and rental property work, plus Toshiba-Carrier VRF for commercial buildings where the building manager prefers Carrier branding for the maintenance contract.

Why Carrier Infinity Greenspeed beats single-stage AC for NYC summers

Most NYC residential AC systems are still single-stage — the compressor runs at 100% capacity until the thermostat is satisfied, then shuts off. Hot, cold, hot, cold — the temperature swings are real, the humidity control is poor, and the equipment cycles 8-12 times per hour during a heat wave. Carrier Infinity Greenspeed uses a modulating compressor that ramps from about 25% to 100% smoothly — the system runs longer at lower capacity, which removes more humidity, holds temperature steadier, and uses 25-40% less energy on average. The catch: Greenspeed only delivers if the system is sized correctly (oversized Greenspeed is worse than properly-sized single-stage) and the Cor 7C thermostat is set up to take advantage of the modulation. We do both.

"After someone replaced my AC filter, the unit stopped working. I called the team who installed my AC two years ago. They came within two days and honestly told me the previous technician had just accidentally turned off the indoor switch. Incredibly honest, transparent, and responsive even years later."

OUR PROCESS

How we install Carrier systems

Same workflow whether the project is a residential Greenspeed retrofit or a commercial AquaEdge chiller — load calc first, equipment selection from the catalog second, commissioning treated as engineering, not a checkbox.

01
search

Site visit & load calculation

We walk the building — basement, attic, mechanical room, rooftop — and run a real Manual J (residential), Manual N (light commercial), or full chiller load calc (large commercial). The number drives equipment selection.

02
document

Equipment selection from the catalog

Right Carrier line for the project: Infinity Greenspeed for premium residential, Performance for mid-tier, WeatherMaker for commercial rooftops, AquaEdge or AquaForce for chillers, Toshiba-Carrier VRF where the building manager wants Carrier branding. Itemized quote with rebate math.

03
calendar

Permits, rebates, scheduling

DOB mechanical permits, Con Edison NYC Clean Heat filing, federal 25C tax credit documentation, BACnet integration coordination with building engineer (commercial), board approval package (co-op/condo) — all handled before install day.

04

Install, commission, warranty registration

Clean install, full commissioning with documented startup readings (refrigerant charge, line-set pressures, Cor 7C thermostat configuration, BACnet integration verified for commercial), and Carrier warranty registration filed on your behalf within the 90-day window.

CARRIER-SPECIFIC ANSWERS

Carrier HVAC FAQ

Questions we get every week from NYC homeowners and building managers considering Carrier Infinity Greenspeed, WeatherMaker, and AquaEdge systems.

Who owns Carrier HVAC? Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR) owns the brand — a public company that spun off from United Technologies in 2020. The Carrier name traces to Willis Carrier, who invented modern air conditioning in 1902. As a standalone company, Carrier HVAC invests heavily in manufacturing, warranty programs, and dealer training, which is reflected in consistent parts availability and installer support across the NYC metro market.

How much does a Carrier HVAC system cost depends on the product line and installation complexity. Entry-level Comfort series units typically run $3,500–$5,500 installed; mid-tier Performance series $5,500–$9,000; the premium Infinity series with variable-speed technology $9,000–$15,000 or more in NYC due to labor rates. Multi-zone mini-splits fall across a similar spread. Always verify current pricing — equipment costs shift with supply chains.

Is Carrier a good HVAC brand? In my experience installing and servicing it across NYC apartments and commercial spaces for years — yes, it's a solid, reliable mid-to-premium brand. Parts availability in this market is excellent, dealer training is consistent, and the Infinity series communicating systems give technicians precise diagnostic data. It's not the cheapest option, but reliability and parts access make it a strong long-term value.

Where are Carrier HVAC units made? Carrier manufactures the majority of its residential and light-commercial equipment at plants in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Collierville, Tennessee. Some ductless mini-split components are sourced from overseas facilities. Domestic production of core Carrier units is a practical advantage for NYC contractors — lead times on replacement parts and warranty components tend to be shorter than fully imported lines.

Where is Carrier HVAC made for residential and light-commercial applications sold in North America? Primarily in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Collierville, Tennessee. Those U.S. factories produce furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps under the Carrier nameplate. Certain ductless and commercial product lines incorporate components manufactured in Asia, assembled to Carrier's specifications before distribution.

How to register Carrier HVAC equipment: go to carrier.com/residential/en/us/product-registration within 90 days of installation and enter the model and serial number from the unit's data plate. Registration extends the standard parts warranty from 5 years to 10 years on most Carrier products. Your installing contractor should also file the registration — confirm this was done, because missing the window costs you significant warranty coverage.
