Con Edison Rebates Available
Traditional HVAC can not handle modern building demands
Multiple tenants, mixed-use floors, server rooms next to open offices — conventional systems were never designed for this. VRV/VRF was.
Every room needs a different temperature
The server room needs 65 degrees, the conference room needs 72, the corner office wants 75. Traditional systems force one setting on everyone
No space for bulky ductwork
NYC brownstones, pre-war buildings, and tight commercial spaces have zero room for conventional duct runs. VRF uses slim refrigerant lines instead
Energy costs are out of control
Running a massive central system at full blast to cool one conference room wastes 40-60% of your energy. VRF delivers only what each zone needs
Heating AND cooling — at the same time
Sun-facing offices need cooling while shaded side needs heat. Only VRF heat recovery systems can do both simultaneously from one outdoor unit
VRF SOLUTIONS
Engineered for Every Challenge
From a 4-zone brownstone to a 64-zone office tower — we design, engineer, and install VRV/VRF systems that fit your building like a glove.
Commercial VRF Installation
Offices, Medical, Retail & Hospitality
Individual zone control for every tenant, floor, or room. We design piping networks for NYC's tightest mechanical spaces, handle DOB permits, and commission every zone to manufacturer spec.
Residential VRF Installation
Brownstones, Penthouses & Luxury Apartments
Whisper-quiet indoor units with sleek design — ceiling cassettes, wall-mounts, or fully ducted concealed units. Perfect climate control without sacrificing interior aesthetics.
VRF Retrofit & Conversion
Replace Outdated Central Systems
Convert your aging chiller, boiler, or rooftop system to modern VRF — often without major structural changes. We reuse existing electrical infrastructure where possible and minimize construction disruption.

HOW IT WORKS
From Blueprint to Perfect Climate
VRF installation is not a commodity job — it requires engineering precision. Here is how we deliver every project.
Site Survey & Load Calculation
We visit your space, measure every room, calculate heating and cooling loads, and assess structural and electrical infrastructure. This data drives the entire system design.
System Design & Engineering
Using manufacturer design software, we engineer the optimal piping layout, select indoor units for each zone, and produce detailed installation drawings. You approve the design and upfront quote before we order a single part.
Professional Installation
Our certified VRF crew handles everything — brazing, pressure testing, vacuum, charging, wiring, and controls. Every connection is leak-tested with nitrogen and logged. We work around your schedule.
Commissioning & Training
We test every zone, calibrate controls, register your warranty with the manufacturer, and train your team on the system. You get complete documentation and a recommended maintenance schedule.

FAQ
Questions We Hear Every Day
Engineer-level answers about VRV/VRF systems — no marketing fluff.
What does VRF stand for in HVAC? Variable Refrigerant Flow — a technology that modulates refrigerant volume to match the real-time load of each indoor unit. Unlike on/off compressors in conventional splits, a VRF system uses an inverter-driven compressor that runs continuously at the exact speed needed, cutting energy use by 30–40% and letting multiple zones operate independently from one outdoor unit.
What does VRV mean in HVAC? It stands for Variable Refrigerant Volume — Daikin's trademarked name for the same technology the rest of the industry calls VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow). Functionally identical: both describe multi-zone systems where an inverter compressor adjusts refrigerant flow to each indoor unit independently. If you see a VRV system installation spec, that's a Daikin product; competing brands like Mitsubishi and LG call theirs VRF.
Most commercial-grade VRF outdoor units support between 8 and 64 indoor units, depending on compressor capacity and the manufacturer's branch controller design. In practice, NYC mid-rise office and retail installations typically run 16 to 30 zones off a single or tandem outdoor unit. Piping length limits — usually 230–500 feet total equivalent length — matter more in taller buildings where risers consume significant allowance.
Yes. Any new VRF system installation that involves refrigerant piping, electrical work above 20 amps, or structural penetrations requires permits filed with the NYC Department of Buildings. The mechanical permit is typically filed under TR1 or Alt-2 application, and an approved licensed contractor must perform the work. Con Edison may also require a load study if new electrical service is added for the outdoor units.
Current VRF systems predominantly use R-410A, though newer equipment is transitioning to R-32 and R-454B under EPA Section 608 and AIM Act phasedown timelines. In NYC, refrigerant handling requires EPA 608 certification. For large commercial VRF installations, refrigerant quantity thresholds may also trigger Local Law 97 documentation. Refrigerant must never be vented; recovery is mandatory during service or decommissioning.
